The Growth Edit

You want to grow. Let’s see what the business can actually support.

We’ll look at your income, spending and business patterns, connect them to what you want next and work through the decisions that could get you there. With preparation before we speak and written recommendations afterwards, the work carries beyond the call.

I

A busy month can hide quite a lot.

Sales are up, but you’re not sure how much of the extra income you’re keeping. You’d like to hire, but can’t tell what the business could comfortably carry. Or you’re planning the next launch around a very good month without knowing whether you can repeat it.

Those questions deserve more than a quick look at the bank balance. We need to understand what happened, what it cost and what a change would ask of your cash, time and team.

The Growth Edit gives us space to do that before you commit more money or work to the next move.

II

This is where my mathematical brain gets rather absorbed.

This offer began when a founder asked whether I could help plot her growth if she gave me her numbers. We laid out the income and spending month by month, looked at the changes and connected them to what was happening in the business.

That work became part of the foundation of Anaptyx. The useful bit was the questions the spreadsheet helped us ask, and the decisions we could make from the answers.

That’s what we do here. Bring the ambition. We’ll look at the workings together.

Three parts, with time protected for the decisions.

01

The Pattern

We examine your income and expenditure over time, including monthly changes, revenue sources and the costs behind the busier periods. We connect movements in the figures to pricing, launches, hiring or other business changes. We look for possible seasonal patterns and check earlier periods where available before treating them as recurring.

02

The Ambition

We discuss what you want the business to achieve, the income and working life you want from it, and the moves you’re considering. We look at what those plans could require from you, the team and the finances, then choose the decision that matters most now.

03

The Next Moves

We compare your current course with one agreed alternative. What could change in income, costs and profit? When would money arrive or leave? What happens if sales are slower or costs are higher than expected?

We then agree up to three priorities for the next 90 days, with an action, owner, deadline and way to measure progress. You’ll know what needs checking and what comes first.

IV

What your £797 includes

  • 01Preparation using the monthly figures and questionnaire you supply, with actual results separated from assumptions.

  • 04A concise two-to-four-page decision brief covering the findings, recommendations, assumptions and your 90-day action plan.
  • 05The spreadsheet and decision brief within three working days of our call, plus one clarification email exchange within seven days of delivery.

Once payment is received, I’ll email you a calendar link and a short questionnaire so we can arrange your session and make good use of our time together.

V

Before we speak

Once you’ve paid, I’ll personally email the calendar link and short questionnaire. I’ll ask for usable monthly income and expenditure figures for the last 12 months, plus the previous year if you have it. We’ll also need details of planned spending or launches and any cash balances or payment commitments relevant to your decision.

Please send the information at least five working days before our session so I can prepare. If you have less than 12 months of trading history or are unsure whether your records are usable, get in touch before booking and we’ll check the fit.

VI

One review can be useful. Your business will keep moving.

You might return each quarter to compare what actually happened with what we expected, review the measures we agreed and make the next set of decisions. Or book again before a hire, a launch or a different trading season.

We can build on what we learned last time, update the figures and challenge any assumptions that no longer hold. You don’t have to keep making decisions from an old plan.

Each Growth Edit is booked separately at £797. There is no automatic renewal or requirement to book a series. We review when there is a useful reason to review.

VII

I’m Jess Middleton, The Fixer. I read the numbers. And the room.

My background is in finance, and I’m interested in what the figures mean for the people making the decisions and doing the work. I ask questions, spot patterns and work through what could change.

You’re very welcome to arrive with ‘I think this is the problem, but I’m not entirely sure’. That gives us somewhere to start.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an accounting appointment?

We use your figures to make commercial decisions about the business. Your bookkeeping and tax work stay with the people responsible for them. Correcting the books is outside this engagement.

Will you tell me exactly how much I’ll make?

We’ll test a course of action using the information available and make the assumptions visible. Actual results will depend on what happens in the business. The value is understanding the decision and its implications before you commit.

Can we model all my ideas?

This engagement covers one business, a base case and one agreed alternative. That keeps enough time for useful decisions. Extensive extra modelling or work across several businesses needs a separate scope.

Do you put the plan into practice for me?

You receive the updated spreadsheet and decision brief with clear priorities for the next 90 days. If you want me involved in the implementation, we can discuss that separately.

Should I book this or The Fixer’s Hour?

Choose The Fixer’s Hour for one focused business question. Choose The Growth Edit when the decision needs a prepared look at income, spending, patterns and the financial implications of growth.

How do I book and what happens afterwards?

Pay using the button below. I’ll then email your calendar link, questionnaire and information request personally. After our session, the updated spreadsheet and decision brief follow within three working days.
