The investigation map
A private business investigation for established founders who know something is not working — but cannot clearly see what is producing it.
Pick yours. Most founders arrive with two or three, and a theory about each.
The symptoms are real. The costs are real. The theories are usually wrong — not because founders aren’t intelligent, but because the visible problems are rarely the operating one.
Something doesn’t add up.
You’ve probably already spent properly trying to fix it — consultants, coaches, campaigns, hires, systems. Each one an answer. And nobody stopped to check the question.
One invisible constraint, quietly producing twenty visible problems.
In most established businesses, the things going wrong are not separate problems. They are symptoms — produced by one structural condition sitting somewhere deeper, feeding all of them at once.
Fix the symptoms and they return, or reappear somewhere else wearing different clothes.
The constraint stays invisible for a simple reason: you are standing inside it. Every fix designed from in there, however smart, is built with the same thinking that produced the problem.
The symptom was real. It just wasn’t the cause.
A private investigation into your business — conducted by someone willing to notice what everyone else has learned to walk around.
Not strategy. Not consultancy. Not a course, a framework or a mastermind.
I examine the finances and the people together — alongside the operations, the decisions, the founder’s own behaviour and the patterns that keep repeating. I follow contradictions. I establish which season the business is actually in. And I keep going until the hidden constraint underneath the symptoms shows itself.
The Fix does not begin with a pre-selected solution, and it will not force your business into a pre-written answer. It follows the evidence. That’s the whole discipline.
Margins, cash conversion, customer concentration, offer economics, the results that only hold because you personally compensate. Numbers don’t perform.
Formal roles versus actual roles. Where decisions really get made, where they stall, what the team protects, and what it has learned not to raise.
The problem that changes names without disappearing. The role that defeats whoever holds it. The founder behaviour that repeats under pressure. What keeps returning — and why.
Which season the business is actually in, which one the strategy was designed for, and where the two are quietly fighting. The right move at the wrong time is still the wrong move.
A defined process with a defined end. Roughly six weeks, door to door.
Application and suitability review. A short application, honestly answered. I take a small number of investigations at a time, and fit matters more than order of arrival.
Before We Begin. You complete the client intake workbook — your version of the story, the symptoms, the previous fixes — and submit the evidence pack securely: the numbers, the roles, the reality.
The opening interview. Ninety minutes. You talk; I ask the questions nobody else has asked. Then I disappear into the evidence and read it independently — the finances and the people, together.
The Investigation Session. A private half-day, working through the evidence, the season, the system and the pattern — until the hidden constraint is named and tested against the facts.
The Final Reading. The written diagnosis: the real problem, why it exists, what it costs, what changes first, what can wait — and what to stop doing. Delivered, then talked through in a ninety-minute findings and decisions call.
Thirty days of implementation support. Two forty-five-minute reviews and focused clarification while the first moves land. Bounded on purpose — this is momentum protection, not a retainer in disguise.
Complete clarity, in writing — and a sequence you can actually follow.
Every finding is evidence-based, and every recommendation is sequenced. No fifty-point action plan. No more strategy. The diagnosis, the order, and the permission to stop fixing the wrong things.
The Fix is not only about knowing what to do. It is knowing what to stop doing.
The deliverables
This is not a call and a PDF of thoughts. The Fix runs on a three-document system — a client intake, a working paper we complete together, and a written Final Reading you keep. A few pages, as they actually look:

The Final Reading
They thought they had a sales problem. They actually had an operational architecture problem. Revenue tripled in three months — without a single new campaign.
They thought they needed marketing. They actually needed stronger business architecture. More leads would have been buying failure at scale.
“I’ve learned more about my business in thirty minutes with you than I have in the last five years.” — a founder, on a call that wasn’t even a consultation.
The Fix is for you if
You run an established business — real revenue, a team, systems, history. You’re intelligent, you’ve already invested in help, and something still doesn’t add up. You can give me access to the evidence: the numbers and the people. And you’d rather hear what’s true than what’s comfortable.
It isn’t for you if
You’re pre-revenue or looking for a playbook. You want your current diagnosis confirmed rather than questioned. You can’t share the real numbers, or won’t. Or you want motivation — I deal in evidence, and evidence is rarely motivational. It’s better than that. It’s useful.

Afterwards
Because The Fix only works with fit, access to evidence, and a founder willing to be honest. I take a small number of investigations at a time, and I’d rather turn down a poor fit than deliver a polite, useless diagnosis. The application takes ten minutes. If it isn’t right, I’ll tell you quickly — and usually point you somewhere more useful.
It won’t find nothing — every business is optimised for something, and the evidence always says what. What it may find is that the constraint is smaller, or different, or more fixable than you feared. Occasionally the finding is that the business is fundamentally sound and the season is simply being misread. That diagnosis is worth exactly as much as a dramatic one. The conclusion follows the evidence, not the appetite for a dramatic answer.
The intake workbook and evidence pack: a few focused hours. The opening interview: ninety minutes. The Investigation Session: half a day, protected. The findings call: ninety minutes. Then two 45-minute reviews across thirty days. Roughly two working days of your time, spread over six weeks — to stop losing months.
Usually a little, sometimes not at all — it depends on what the evidence needs. Where team conversations happen, they’re handled carefully; the investigation is not an inspection, and nobody gets ambushed. What your team tells me stays inside the diagnosis.
Completely. Evidence is submitted securely, working papers stay private, and anything published about the work is anonymised beyond recognition. You’ll notice the case files on this site are about patterns, not identities.
That decision belongs at the end of the implementation period, not before. Some founders continue independently — clarity was the missing piece. Some engage The Rebuild™ for the structural work. Some keep me as a long-term thinking partner. All three are legitimate outcomes, and I’ll tell you honestly which one the evidence supports — including the one that involves paying me nothing further.
Ten minutes, honestly answered. This is the first page of the investigation — so treat it the way you’d treat the whole thing. I read every application personally and reply within two working days.
Give me the business as it is. Not the version that presents well.
